The Ecogear VX35 blades or vibes are often an effective alternative to fishing plastics in deep water situations. Originally coming out in a versatile VX35 3.5g and VX40 5.0g, they have since expanded to VX45 and VX50 models, and feature colours to cover all fishing conditions.

TIPS AND TECHNIQUES: The Ecogear VX35 can be used when fishing with straight thru fluorocarbon line but are often better when used in a braid/fluorocarbon leader combination. The use of braid, keeps you in touch with the lures responsiveness at all times to ensure you feel bumps and strikes to maximize your hook up rate. Use of a long (4-6ft) leader is optimum, giving you a little stretch without sacrificing line tension during retrieval. To retrieve Ecogear VX35's effectively, let it sink to the bottom, then try small lifts of your rod ensuring you wind up the slack line at all times to stay in touch with your lure. Often a great technique is to pause your blade on the bottom or deadsticking for 5-10secs and you will often find fish will pick the lure up and swim away with a strike being inevitable.
