Megabass Dog-X JR COAYU Tips and Techniques
MEGABASS DOG-X JR COAYU
The Dog-X Jr Coayu is a little brother to the original Dog X which has
been developed over the years to chase Bass in Japan. With it's unique
side stepping action, it has become one of the most premier topwater
baits in today's Breaming. The Dog-X Jr perfectly mimics fleeing
baitfish that dart and skip along the surface when chased by predators.
TIPS AND TECHNIQUES: When retrieving the Dog-X Jr, varying your retrieve
patterns often grabs the attention of feeding fish. Short fast twitches,
followed by a pause often grabs the predator's attention then draws them
into striking while the lure is stationary. Along with that trying long
slow twitches followed by a pause, maximize the lure's action, like
swimming baitfish, therefore enticing fish to strike.
A pause (long or short) is an essential part of retrieving the Dog-X Jr
as it allows trailing or inquisitive fish to catch up to the lure before
they strike. Also keep an eye on your lure at all times because if it's
not on the surface, you can pretty much guarantee a fish has taken it!!
