TIPS AND TECHNIQUES: Shad style lures are proving to be a valuable asset to have in your breaming arsenal. Cranka shads have not only got the style mastered but have the weight to match as this increases their cast ability when used in less desirable conditions. The use of light leaders (2-4lb) or straight through fluorocarbon, can produce maximum results from these shads as their action is not compromised due to their slender profile. Retrieve patterns can be varied with this lure to take full advantage of it's suspending characteristics. The standard slow roll with 3-4sec pauses thrown in, can be enough to entice curious predators but for the more adventurous angler, a Rip-Rip-Pause retrieve can turn the most laziest eating bream to a lure smashing demon. Downsizing treble size can also turn your suspending Cranka into a slightly floating model which is handy when used in heavy reefy areas to reduce snag ups.
